Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 cup ripe bananas (about 2-3 medium bananas, mashed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the mashed ripe bananas, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Drop rounded dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
