Peanut Butter Pie is a delightful and indulgent dessert that has captured the hearts and taste buds of many, making it a beloved classic in American kitchens.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 and 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup creamy peanut butter
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional, for topping or extra decadence)
Instructions
Prepare the crust: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Pour in the melted butter and mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and resemble wet sand.
Form the crust: Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.
Make the filling: In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the creamy peanut butter until smooth and well-combined.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the peanut butter mixture. Beat until the mixture is fluffy and light.
Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture.
Combine the filling and crust: Spoon the peanut butter filling into the prepared crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Chill the pie: Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.
Serve: Before serving, sprinkle chocolate chips on top or drizzle melted chocolate over the top.
