Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Add softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Pour into Pans: Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Divide the batter evenly between the two pans.
- Bake the Cakes: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the Cakes: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on wire racks.
- Make the Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter together until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, beating until smooth.
- Assemble the Cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread frosting on top, place the second layer, and frost the top and sides.
- Whip the Cream: In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
