Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the milk until a dough forms. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a rectangle and cut into squares.
  3. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into quarters.
  4. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Sprinkle with flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and seasonings, cooking until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the biscuit pieces, then pour the sausage gravy over them.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top. In a bowl, beat the eggs and pour over the cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes, garnish with green onions, cut into squares, and serve warm.
