9 cups of Chex cereal (Rice, Corn, or Chocolate)
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 cup of butterscotch chips
½ cup of creamy peanut butter
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Optional: chocolate chips or melts
Optional: sprinkles for festive occasions
Instructions
In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, combine the butterscotch chips, creamy peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove and stir well. If needed, microwave in additional 15-second intervals until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the butterscotch mixture over the cereal, gently folding to coat every piece evenly.
Transfer the coated cereal to a large resealable plastic bag. Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake vigorously until all the cereal is evenly coated with the sugar.
Spread the coated puppy chow onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow it to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
If desired, melt additional chocolate chips, drizzle over the cooled puppy chow, and add sprinkles for a fun and festive presentation.
