Garlic Parmesan Pull-Apart Bread is a delightful and irresistible treat that combines the rich flavors of garlic and parmesan cheese with the soft, warm texture of freshly baked bread.
Ingredients
Scale:
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water (around 110°F)
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
Add the olive oil, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic, parsley, and black pepper. Stir well and set aside.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches). Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the dough.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the dough. If desired, add shredded mozzarella for extra cheesiness.
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into strips (about 2 inches wide). Stack the strips on top of each other and then cut them into squares.
Cover the loaf pan with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Serve warm.
