Garlic Lemon Butter Shrimp Pasta is a delightful dish that combines the succulent flavors of shrimp with a zesty garlic butter sauce, perfectly complemented by the bright notes of lemon.
Ingredients
Scale:
8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Juice of 1 large lemon
Zest of 1 lemon
Instructions
In a large pot, bring salted water to a vigorous boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Season generously with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
Squeeze in the juice of one lemon and add the lemon zest to the shrimp. Stir well to combine and allow the flavors to meld for another minute.
Add the drained pasta directly to the skillet with the shrimp and garlic butter sauce. Toss everything together gently, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to help create a creamy sauce.
Remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the Garlic Lemon Butter Shrimp Pasta to serving plates, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately while hot.
