There's something undeniably comforting about a fresh, warm chocolate brownie. The gooey, fudgy texture combined with a rich chocolate flavor makes it an irresistible dessert, perfect for casual gatherings or a quiet night in.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
If using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them into the batter.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
