Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
While the brownies bake, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy and fluffy.
Once the brownies have cooled completely, spread the cream cheese frosting generously over the top.
